The Post About The Rabbit Recommends v.84

Each weekend, I post a readable, a watchable, and a listenable of which I'm fond. You can choose what happens next. Earlier volumes can be found here.

**Repeat Offender Edition - I've suggested you digest all of these in some way before, but my love is not limited to only one Rabbit Rec.**

Read

I've previously disclosed my obsession with magazines. But this is the one. The one I would have delivered to that desert island where Matt Damon and I enjoy an unlimited supply of Cheez-its. Real Simple is smart and clever and helpful and stylish and doesn't make me feel like an underachiever (cough*MarthaStewartLiving*cough). Plus, it's the only subscription for which I'll pay full price. A sign of affection for sure.

Watch

Tina Fey live is always my preference. Whether being interviewed or delivering an acceptance speech or embodying the spirit of one rogue governor. So I had high hopes for this week's live 30 Rock and it did not disappoint. I've embedded the West Coast version because I really think they got the better episode. Dumb California with their mountains and beaches and In-N-Out.

Listen

I've declared my music crush on Brooke Fraser. At least 5 times.
Her newest album, Flags, is different from her 2 previous outings, but still quite delightful. If I might recommend my favorites from the embedded player, please fast forward to #3 Orphans, Kingdoms and #11 Flags. But I'm not the boss of you. You do what you want.

Recommending Disclaimer: I don't suggest anything because I get it free or because I have some sort of illicit relationship with an editor or writer or New Zealand singer. I save all of those questionable dealings for those who offer me Reese's Cup pumpkins.

The Post About Google Smacks my iPhone

I was on the prowl for a New Yorker article by Jose Vargas titled "The Face of Facebook" which is a great in-depth with FB founder, Mark Zuckerberg.

I was conducting this search on my beloved iPhone, when Google, my search engine of choice, returned this message.

Google Takes a Swipe at my Iphone

Does that sorta feel like a swipe at one turtlenecked iCEO?

The Post About The Rabbit Recommends v.83

Each weekend, I post a readable, a watchable, and a listenable of which I'm fond. You can choose what happens next. Earlier volumes can be found here.

Read

Darcy at My 3 Boybarians is doing this divine series at her blog on 31 Days to a Better Photo. She's only on day 10 and I already want to send her a fruit basket. For those of you who want to speak the same language as your DSLR camera, then this is just what the photographer ordered. She explains (in simple hooked on phonics instructions) things like metering, exposure triangles and other photo things that normally make me furrow my brow.

Watch

Lots of new shows on the box this Fall and there's one I already want to hug more than any other. Raising Hope is
about a 23-year-old who must raise his infant daughter with the help of his flawed family after the baby's mother (who's killed several boyfriends) is given the death penalty. Just like the Huxtables, right? It really is a sweet and endearing comedy. Plus Martha Plimpton, from Goonies and River Phoenix-girlfriend fame is crazy good. I've provided you with in-blog access to the 3rd episode, Dream Hoarders. You can watch more full eppy's at Hulu.com.

Listen

I've already professed a love for singer/songwriter Cindy Morgan. She's now embraced her married name, Brouwer, and joined Jeremy Bose to form St. Lola in the Fields. Their music's been featured on One Tree Hill and Pretty Little Liars. But you too can enjoy it without indulging in teen angsty drama. Their newest album is High Atop the Houses and the Towns. As of this second, you can stream the album in its complete loveliness at AbsolutePunk.net. Might I suggest a download of "Don't Say" and "Fix?"

The Post About Can't We All Agree?

iPhone Heated Up
This was the message my iPhone sent me recently.

I feel the same way sometimes.

Particularly in traffic.

Can't we all agree the emergency lane is for emergency vehicles and not a Honda Odyssey running late for gymnastics?

Can't we all agree that trash should be thrown in the face of anyone who throws it out a car window?

Can't we all agree that not using your turn signal will irritate Jamie to the point that she might tailgate or cut folks off or roll her eyes to the point that she, herself, is an unsafe driver?

Can't we?

What gets you fired up on the road?

The Post About The Rabbit Recommends v.82

Each weekend, I post a readable, a watchable, and a listenable of which I'm fond. You can choose what happens next. Earlier volumes can be found here.

Read

I ordered The Daily Show's newest book Earth as soon as the "Add to Cart" button went live. I might be jumping the gun on this recommendation because truthfully I'm only halfway to the end, but so far, so hilarious. It's a guide for aliens who might need a handbook on our species. And read English. Sense of humor required.

Watch

I cut out of work early on Friday afternoon and went straight to the popcorn counter and then straight to a seat to watch this movie, The Social Network. It really is as good as everyone is saying it is. I already had a huge WestWingAFewGoodMen crush on screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, so I knew the dialogue would be quick AND witted. And just in case you're wondering, it's actually not about Facebook.

Listen

Sara Bareilles' first album
Little Voice wrecked me. The perfect album for pints of Ben & Jerry's and fetal positions. Her new album, Kaleidoscope Heart, is just as good, but without quite as much personal devastation. My favorite songs include Uncharted, Gonna Get Over You and Basketcase. The last includes this great bridge:
Won't somebody come on in and tug at my seams?

Oh, send your armies in of robbers and thieves

To steal the state I'm in. I don't want it anymore
.

Recommending Disclaimer: I don't suggest anything because I get it free or because I have some sort of illicit relationship with a publisher or director or songwriter. I save all of those questionable dealings for the company that makes Snickers.

P.S. We have a winner!

She won for following me on Twitter but let's take a gander at her TV habits:
Well I would have said my 2 faves but they are gone; Lost, 24 so I guess I'll say: Fringe!

My heart longs for Lost too Barb! Email me at jamiesrabbits@gmail.com to collect your Netflix bounty!
